to be honest. my aspirations of space politics aside. I have a unique perspective… as an old-bitter-vet null sec person I know the concerns and views of the experienced player base…, but also because of my work with the uni… I have one ear for the care-bear high sec and new player experience.
And I think although there is a certain disdain for the CSM as being largely ineffectual… I think it doesn’t have to be. And although CCP set up the CSM… the players can and DO give it some weight… and I think it could be leveraged more effectively rather than just acting as a glorified “focus group”. True or not, there is the impression that historically CCP has come up with changes, and gets to the point of launch, gets advice from the CSM then goes ahead with the changes regardless of the advice they get because they have already invested a great deal of time and money in those changes….that’s sort of backwards. Above all I find Eve Online to be both unique and remarkable. We have built something truly phenomenal in this work of “Living Science Fiction” and I am grateful and privileged to be a part of it. I want to be an inclusive voice for all the regions/strata and pilots of New Eden!
